Sri Lanka has confirmed that they sent war planes to destroy a Tamil Tiger base in the northeast on Sunday. In total, 19 guerrillas were killed, along with 5 security personnel.
The ministry stated on Sunday that fighter jets completely took out the logistic base as well as combat vehicle conversion plant.
Pilots have confirmed that all of the targets were hit successfully and were accurate.
Rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam stated that the jets killed two civilians and wounded 11 more during the attack. This has yet to be confirmed.
The Tigers released a statement saying “Two civilians were killed by an aerial bombing of the Sri Lankan air force on Sunday in Puthukkuriruppu town center.”
