The first lady of France, and the new wife of France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy, Carla Bruni, showed up in Britain on Tuesday.
Bruni arrived via plane at Heathrow this week, making her way to Britain for the first time since marrying Sarkozy.
She came along with her husband Sarkozy, who is in Britain on a two-day visit.
Two generations of the Royal Family showed up to greet the couple and welcome them to Windsor Castle.
Sarkozy is hopeful that the trip will build cross-Channel relations.
He is also hoping to build better cooperation on illegal immigration. Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall greeted then at Heathrow Airport.
This is the first full state visit to Britain by a French president since 1996.
