A plane carrying 20 people crashed into the sea after it took off from the French Polynesian island Moorea.
Reports are stating that at the very least 14 out of the 20 on board the aircraft are dead.
Officials have stated from the local aviation authority as well as Air Moorea that the plane was a Twin Otter DHC6 turbopop. It had 19 passengers and one pilot when it went down.
The plane crashed around noon local time on Thursday.
14 bodies have been recovered thus far which makes up for the death toll of 14. There are no survivors at this point so it may be unfortunate but likely that all 20 people are dead.
There is no word on a cause of the crash according to a spokeswoman. An investigation is kicking into high gear though into the tragedy.
