President Obama had a weekend getaway to the coast of Maine this past weekend. The president and his family enjoyed some time to themselves away from the pressures of the White House.
The Obamas stayed on their vacation until Sunday, with a lot of their time on vacation spent ejoying Acadia National Park. The family enjoyed the scenic trails and some hiking. They did not host any public events while on their retreat.
This latest trip follows other recent vacations where the Obamas enjoyed Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon. They actually went white water rafting while visiting the Grand Canyon.
President Obama left for the trip to Maine after receiving good news about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and from congress. It was more welcome than the news he usually receives which often make him delay or cancel family outings.
Even with two wars that are ongoing and an economic disaster crowding his agenda, Obama has taken little time off.
This has not stopped critics of President Obama from saying he shouldn’t have time to play golf or have family outings with the country in economic collapse and all the other problems that are currently on the table.
