Washington (OTL) - The Democratic National Convention is set to be opened up by two women, Barack Obama’s wife Michelle Obama, as well as Hillary Clinton.
Michelle Obama is the wife of the Illinois senator, and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
She will be the keynote speaker on Monday night at the DNC, taking the prime time slot on day one of the convention.
She will be making a joint statement along with the Democratic convention committee.
On Tuesday night, NY Senator Hillary Clinton will take the stage to open the night in the prime time slot.
The statement released by Democrats stated “Senator Hillary Clinton, who is a champion for working families and one of the most effective and empathetic voices in the country today, will be the headline prime-time speaker on Tuesday August 26th,”
This is a major opportunity for Michelle Obama to make her voice heard to the world.
