Washington (OTL) - U.S. law enforcement officials have come out and stated that government scientist Bruce E. Ivins was the only person responsible and behind the 2001 anthrax attacks.
Federal law enforcement officials released newly unsealed evidence to the press on Wednesday, showcasing that Ivins was the only person responsible for these attacks.
U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeffrey Taylor, stated that the investigation is now expected to be closed.
The anthrax attacks took place back in 2001, shortly after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The anthrax attacks resulted in the deaths of five people, as well as 17 others being infected.
The 62-year old Ivins died on July 29 when he killed himself by overdoesing on prescription Tylenol.
He reportedly committed suicide as he learned that he was soon to be charged in the attacks.
