The lightning storm let out nearly 8,000 lightning strikes in total over a very short period of time.

There was not much rain in the storm, but plenty of lightning to set forests and grasslands on fire.

The weekend storm was very unusual not only because of the lightnings trikes, but also because it hit far earlier in the season than usual.

It also moved in from the Pacific Ocean. Storms such as this are normally seen in late July or August.

On Tuesday, thousands of firefighters did heir best to battle the fires and control them as much as possible.

The big problem though is that everything is just extremely dry. They will continue work on Wednesday.
