New York Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno has said that he has had enough and will not seek re-election.
This decision comes after a 32 year run in office. He has been well liked and extremely respected during his time.
The announcement was made in a meeting with his fellow Republican colleagues on Monday.
Bruno has had a positive run representing the people. HeĀ has spent 12 years as majority leader and has helped push more than $126 billion in tax cuts.
He also helped create 800,000 private industry jobs.
He stated he will step down to give another politician the chance to lead.
