Hillary Clinton made history by being the first female to run for president. Now the U.S. is ready to get its first female four-star general.
The Pentagon has announced that President Bush has nominated Lieutenant General Ann Dunwoody to be the head of the Army Material Command.
Her job will be equipping, outfitting, and arming the solders.
When this goes through the senate, she will be only women to have this rank.
Currently, the Army is limited to only 11 active-duty four-star generals.
The simple reason this has taken so long to happen is because women were not allowed to have combat roles. Women are now an equal part of every aspect of the army.
