The California Supreme Court has announced that gay couples are now allowed to marry in the state.
The gay rights movement gained a huge victory with this ruling on Thursday, which will allow same-sex couples to get married in about a month in California.
This comes as many groups push for a constitutional amendment to ban this ruling by the Supreme Court.
Many were outside of City Hall to celebrate the announcement on Thursday, with many wearing rainbow-colored gay-pride flags and more.
Many were also already set to make appointments to get marriage licenses. The court went against state laws which banned same-sex marriages in a ruling which was 4-3 in terms of votes.
