The health care plan from McCain will rely on competition between health insurance companies, without the government getting involved very much.
This goes against the plans of Democratic rivals Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, who are both pushing for very pro-active governments in terms of how they deal with health care.
McCain wants to rid of tax exemption on employer-provided insurance, and give a $2,500 annual tax credit to people, and $5,000 to families to purchase their own health insurance.
The plan leans more on the individuals having a choice as to what health insurance plan they get to choose, and how they want to handle it.
