The U.S. Supreme Court has approved an Indiana state law that will require people to show a photo ID when they go to vote.
Many have been going against this law, stating that it discriminates against poor voters, as well as others who are less likely to carry an ID with them at all times.
The U.S. Supreme Court though ruled that the law did not put any bit of a burden on voters.
More than 20 other states have similar rules in place. This means that more stated are likely to adopt these rules very soon as well.
Democrats have been arguing that the vote ID laws are an attempt by the Republicans to stop minority groups from coming out to vote.
Civil rights groups have argued that there is no history of voter fraud in Indiana, meaning there is no need for the laws.
This has all gone by the wayside though as the new voter ID laws have been approved.
