The National Children’s Museum has arrested and charged an employee with distributing child pornography over the internet.
The chief operating officer of the National Children’s Museum made the announcement in regards to the arrest and subsequent charges geared towards Robert A. Singer. Singer is accused of sending images of child pornography over the internet.
He apparently sent the images to whom he thought was a 12-year-old girl and her 33-year-old mother.
U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia stated though that he was actually talking to an undercover detective for the New York Police Department.
The 49-year-old Singer was arrested at his home in Falls Church, Virginia by federal agents.
He is charged with five counts of distributing child pornography in interstate commerce. He would face, if convicted, up to 140 years in prison. That consists of 23 years for the first count and 40 for each additional count.
