The contenders in the Democratic presidential race faced off on Tuesday with a lot of the attack from Barack Obama and others being aimed directly at Hillary Clinton, the current front-runner.

Many, including rivals Barack Obama, John Edwards, and Chris Dodd all began to take shots at Clinton as they tried to knock her off of her perch at the top of the pack. Clinton currently has a very large lead among Democrats in the national polls and is trying to hold onto that lead as the November 2008 election nears closer by the day.

Clinton took a lot of questions in regards to whether or not she believes she could actually win the White House. She was also accused of shifting her views in order to gain ground in the political world.

Dodd stated “Whether it’s fair or not fair, the fact of the matter is that my colleague from New York, Senator Clinton, there are 50% of the American public that say they’re not going to vote for her. We as a party certainly have to take that into consideration.”

Obama took his shots at Clinton as well stating that she flipped positions on many political topics such as Iraq, trade, and more. He stated and argued that she did it “whenever it’s politically convenient.”

Edwards also attacked Clinton stating that she helped President George W. Bush set up what may end up being a war in Iran by voting to label the Iranian military unit as a terrorist group.

He stated “She says she’ll stand up to George Bush on Iran. And in fact, she voted to give George Bush the first step in moving militarily on Iran - and he’s taken it.”

The debate was an outright onslaught at Clinton who maintains her positions and her lead in the Democratic race.
