Hacker steals thousands of credit card numbers

According to a report, a computer hacker has managed to steal thousands of credit card numbers from two U.S. grocery store chains.According to a report, a computer hacker has managed to steal thousands of credit card numbers from two U.S. grocery store chains.

The two chains are owned by Belgium-based Delhaize Group SA.

Over 2,000 cases of fraud have already been linked to the security breach, as many shopppers have stated they are shocked about the news.

There was no personal information stolen though, meaning no addresses or names.

The two chains who were attacked include Hannaford Bros. stores in Massachusetts, New England, and New York, as well as Sweetbay customers in Florida.

4.2 million credit and debit card numbers were apparently stolen.

Company officials did not immediately make a statement to confirm the numbers.

Hannaford Chief Executive Ron Hodge has come out and apologized for the inconvenience to customers.
