Chicago - The Chicago Bulls picked Derrick Rose as the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday night.
Rose grew up on the South Side of Chicago, and is staying home to play in the NBA.
He was chosen over the Kansas State forward, Michael Beasley.
Beasley ended up going second to Miami, while Minnesota chose O.J. Mayo, a point guad at the No. 3 spot.
Rose led the Tigers to the national championship game in his one college season.
The Bulls chose to take a true point guard over the larger big man, Beasley.
