Just a few days removed from a thrilling U.S. Open win, Tiger Woods has announced he needs knee surgery, and will be out for the rest of 2008.
The knee surgery is needed to repair a torn ligament in his left knee, which has been bothering him since July.
On April 15, Woods had arthroscopic surgery to clean out cartilage in his left knee, with the hope that it would get him through the 2008 PGA Tour.
This did not happen though as the surgery comes just after he has won his 14th major title playing 91 holes to win the U.S. Open.
He stated “Although I will miss the rest of the 2008 season, I’m thrilled with the fact that last week was such a special tournament.”
