Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy has come out and filed a document in U.S. District Court in New York stating other referees fixed certain playoff games.
He stated that referees, including himself, fixed important playoff games in 2002.
One of the games was Game 6 of the Lakers-Kings playoff series in 2002, as they wanted to force a lucrative game 7.
NBA Commissioner David Stern has denied all allegations to this point.
Stern stated “We welcome scrutiny here. This is something that should be scrutinized.”
True or no true, this comes at a bad time for the NBA, which is in the middle of the NBA Finals as the Celtics square off against the Lakers.
