The Toronto Maple Leafs have fired their head coach Paul Maurice after a disappointing season which had them missing the NHL playoffs.
The Maple Leafs annoucned on Wednesday that they had fired their head coach.
The report came from TSN as they finished dead last in the Northeast Division.
Maurice stated on Wednesday that he was happy he was let go now rather than in the middle of the summer months.
He will be looking for another NHL job before the start of next season.
