New York Rangers star forward Sean Avery had to be rushed to the hospital after suffering from a laceration of the spleen. This took place during their loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL playoffs.
The team has come out and stated that Avery was rushed to the St. Vincent’s Medical Center after the Rangers lost 5-3 on Tuesday night.
He was admitted for a CT scan, when the laceration was detected.
He may need surgery and will likely remain in the hospital for at least a few days. He is expected to be just fine though and should make a full recovery.
He is currently in stable condition according to reports. There is still no clue as to when Avery was actually injured. He did state that the pain progressed throughout the game though.
He did manage to walk into the hospital, as it was never life-threatening according to doctors.
