A construction worker at the site of the new Yankee Stadium, which will be home to the New York Yankees next year, tried to curse the New York team. He planted a Boston Red Sox jersey in their new stadium. It has been dug up though.
The Red Sox jersey was buried behind what will be a restaurant in the new Yankee Stadium.
Construction workers had to jackhammer through concrete on Sunday to remove the jersey.
The construction worker was apparently a die-hard Red Sox fan.
He buried the shirt in the new Yankee Stadium which is set to open next year. Team officials at first considered to leave the shirt where it was, but then decided against it. Construction workers who were there when it took placed tipped off the location of the jersey.
The Red Sox jersey was under 2 feet of concrete, it took 5 hours to find it.
The shirt had Ortiz and No. 34 on the back. It is not yet known if any criminal charges will be filed, but it is possible.
