President Bush meets the White Sox

Big Papi, David Ortiz was in full effect as he was seen holding up the World Series championship trophy.Red Sox Nation was loud and proud in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday as the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox paid a visit to President Bush and the White House.

They were at the White House as Bush honored the team for their World Series victory.

This is the second time in four seasons that the Red Sox have been able to make this trip to the White House with the World Series trophy in their grasp.

Bush stated “This was a club that was wise enough to maintain a core of players that knew how to win. Variteck, Mirabelli, Ortiz, Ramirez, Schilling, Youkilis, Timlin, and Wakefield made their second trip to the White House.

He stated “they provided the nucleus to bring some new players and some young players along.”

Red Sox manager Terry Francona was also in attendance with principal owner John Henry, chairman Tom Werner, and CEO Larry Lucchino.
