Sales of the new Apple smartphone have been happening around the world for a few hours now. However, the demand for the new iPhone 3G S will be low-key compared to that of the iPhone 3G launch when iPhone 3G S becomes available today.
The iPhone 3G S, revealed earlier this month at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), is believed to be an progressive upgrade of the original iPhone 3G, which was announced at last year’s WWDC. The new phone is “faster and more responsive” than the original iPhone, with more battery life and close to double the storage, Apple said.
The 3G S has a PowerVR SGX graphics chip made by Imagination Technologies – far superior to the prior-generation graphics chip in the older models. RAM has been doubled to 256MB.
