Apple unveils DRM-free music on iTunes

Apple unveiled at their big Macworld keynote that they will launch DRM-free music on their iTunes store.Washington (OTL) – Apple unveiled at their big Macworld keynote that they will launch DRM-free music on their iTunes store.

Apple senior vice president of worldwide product marketing Philip W. Schiller made the announcement as he gave the big keynote this year at Macworld.

Apple made it clear at the keynote speech that they are going to remove anticopying restrictions from all songs on iTunes.

This means that every single song on iTunes will now be DRM-free, meaning that users who buy it can take the songs and do what they please with them.

On top of that, they also announced new pricing plans for songs on iTunes as the songs will be priced at $0.69, $0.99 and $1.29.

The majority of songs are believed to be released at the $0.69 price point though.

Apple struck a deal with Universal Music, Warner Music, Sony
