Seattle – The Chinese government has always been strict in not allowing porn on the internet and they are now becoming even more active in this. They have gone as far as to order Google to not allow pornography sites to be as available as they currently are. Google says they are not in the wrong.
China has implemented what they are calling a “nationwide anti-crime” and is asking the public to alert them to any sites that are explicit in a sexual nature. They have also said that there may be a severe “crack down” on the way to help prevent the moral’s of their youth.
Those who use the internet in China were asked, as reported back in 1996, to sign a list of rules that prohibits and sending or receiving of pornographic material. China’s security ministry said back in 1997, that they would be going after explicit stories, online strip shows and pornography on the internet. Some of these restrictions came about when the Olympics were held there last year and more have recently came about these past few weeks.
Being the fact that China is so active on banning pornography of any site, they are being applauded as many believe that such actions should be taken abroad. This is just not political speech to try and make themselves look good, but is being looked upon as an act of love and protection for the children.
