Washington (OTL) – Sony has announced the recall of its Vaio TZ-series notebooks, due to overheating problems.
Sony has issued a recall of 440,000 Vaio notebooks around the world.
Sony stated that there are clear overheating problems with the notebooks, which have already been linked to many injuries.
Sony stated that the recall was due to “irregularly positioned wires.”
This could have also been caused by a screw that became dislodged and caused a short circuit.
Sony has recalled 73,000 notebooks in the U.S. and around the world.
The recall, however, is believed to actually cover 440,000 units.
