Calgary-The winner of the Solar Car Race in the North American Car channel is the car from the University of Minnesota, but there were awards for other groups of finishers.
Solar motor car racing has grown, and the nearly 4,000 kilometer race from Plano Texas to Calgary Canada serves to illustrated the interest and the participation in different solar car activities.
There were 25 different entrants in this years race, and it lasted for about 8 days.
The race pitted both college and professional race technical teams in a fun and educational race that announced it was being ran on solar power only.
This led to the eventual finish of 15 teams at the finish line in Calgary.
Much of the world is demanding renewable and green type of energy and the solar car race grows bigger each year as more sponsors and others join up. It gives people a chance to observe and see what is possible.
With the sky rocking price of oil its easy to see why the interest involvement and excitement over the race has continued to grow.
