Toronto - Facebook says “there can be only one” and files a large lawsuit against a German social networking site known as studiVZ.
StudiVZ has over 10 million users and controls easily the largest social networking market in Germany.
Facebook doesn’t have a problem with other social networking site, as long as they don’t steal the look or any of their features. Their lawyers filed a complaint in a California court, stating that studiVZ stole the look and many of the features associated Facebook.
According to Facebook’s lawyers the German site has the look and feel of Facebook, which of course drew the attention of the internet giant.
The only difference between the two sites, is that studiVZ replaced some of the color schemes.
The German site has issued a press statement saying it has yet to receive the complaint, and therefore cannot yet comment on the suit.
