Price Reduction The Result Of Duo Processor Price Drop.Cupertino, CA-The overall price of the MacBook Air, the Apple companies premier laptop computer has been reduced by $500 dollars.

The reduction in price appeared to be a result of $100 dollar drop in the price of the 1.8 Ghz Intel Core II processor.

The addition of a $400 dollar reduction in the 64 Gigabyte solid-state hard drive also has contributed for the reduction of the MacBook price.

The Deluxe model of the notebook is priced at $2,598 dollars, and the base model with a 1.6 Ghz processor remains the same price at $1,799 dollars.

The Deluxe model was priced as late as last week at $3,098 dollars, and the $500 dollar price reduction will be well received, especially by students that prepare to go back to school this fall.

It is not unusual for computer makers to reduce their prices as component prices fall, but for the prices to fall this swiftly it takes a sudden drop in component prices such as just happened.

The notebook in both the basic and deluxe versions has been very well received by the computing public at large.

The notebook in its present configuration was first unveiled at the MacWorld Conference in San Francisco last January.
