Sony has confirmed that they will release the major PS3 firmware update 2.40 on Wednesday. This will introduce an in-game XMB, as well as Trophies to the PS3.
Many fans of the PS3 have complained that they are unable to do things users on the Xbox 360 can do.
This is about to change with firmware 2.40 and the in-game XMB.
Now, whenever you are in a game, you will be able to hit the PlayStation button and pull up the in-game XMB. This will allow you to see who is online, chat with friends, and much more
.
Also being released with the firmware update is the addition of Trophies, which will act similar to Xbox 360 Achievements.
Players will be able to earn bronze, silver, gold, and platinum trophies for accomplishments in games.
