California- As part of its continuing effort to hold on to free e-mail market share, Yahoo Inc. has announced that it is adding 2 additional free online domains for web based free e-mail use.
Yahoo will introduce @ymail.com and the additional @rocketmail.com to supplement its current familiar e-mail address suffix of @yahoo.com that it currently uses.
Over 266 million people across the globe have a Yahoo based free e-mail; they are the leader in free email topping rivals Google, Microsoft with their Gmail and Hotmail services, respectively.
Yahoo is attempting to offer additional free domains to combat some of the disappointments that they have faced in recent months.
First a merger/takeover by Microsoft fell through, and the resulting PR nightmare has done a lot of negative public relations for the once mighty Internet Yahoo Firm.
The new domain names will give literally millions and millions of new e-mail options, and users can pick from a variety of different suffix domain names now from the Yahoo stable.
In addition to the public spat that Yahoo had with Microsoft the revenues of the Internet giant have been slipping and they have given shareholders a series of headaches about the possible future direction of the company.
