Apple Inc. will be giving consumers in Italy a choice when they go to buy the iPhone. Two companies, Telecom Italia, and Vodafone will be selling the iPhone this year in the country.
Telecom Italia and Vodafone have come out and stated they will sell the iPhone before the end of 2008.
Vodafone made the initial announcement, stating they will sell the iPhone in Italy, as well as nine other countries.
Telecom Italia later announced they will also sell the iPhone in Italy.
Telecom Italia then put out a statement saying “Telecom Italia announces today that it has signed an agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone to Italy within the year.”
There is no word on how this will impact other markets, the release of the 3G iPhone, etc.
The exclusive deals are gone in Italy though it seems, as consumers will have choice when they want an iPhone.
