India broke a record previously held by Russia when they launched 10 satellites into orbit at once on Monday.
The 10 satellites included a 700 kilogram remote-sensing satellite, as well as a smaller satellite and eight nano-satellites.
The Indian Space Research Organization has stated that the mission was a complete success
The satellites were shot into orbit on the back of a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).
The ISRO stated that the PSLV has once again proven to be a great way to get multiple satellites into orbit at once.
The launch was shown live on television via a public broadcast.
ISRO chairman G. Madhavan stated the mission was a complete and utter “success.”
Russia held the previous record launching 8 satellites at once.
