Activision and Infinity Ward’s shooter, Call of Duty 4, has hit a milestone with over 9 million units sold across the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
Call of Duty 4 has managed to stand the test of time, consistently being at or near the top of the NPD Group’s monthly sales each and every month since it released last fall.
The game managed to top 7 million units sold worldwide by the end of 2007, and has now topped 9 million.
It also set a record by selling 1 million downloads of the Variety Map Pack on XBLA in just 9 days.
The four-map pack came as a free download with Call of Duty 4: Game of the Year Edition which released a few weeks ago.
It will be released on the PS3’s PlayStation Network next week.
