The gaming industry has caught up with the lodging industry, with various Wii games and interactive games being featured as the hottest items. Nintendo Wii is a true gaming phenomenon, and the market and lodging industry have sat up and taken notice.

At one hotel in downtown New York City, rentals are offered in the fitness center for $50 dollars for an hour of play, or you can have a personal trainer added for another $60 dollars.

The Westin chain of hotels has said that over 150 locations nationwide will soon be featuring gaming systems in rooms, and that there would also be sites in areas such as fitness centers or near swimming pools for guests to enjoy video games.

Because the Nintendo Wii game system is priced at about $249 dollars it is relatively inexpensive for a hotel or motel, even a smaller single location, to purchase a game unit and offer it to their guests. In Seattle, the Hotel Monaco stages a weekly musical playoff among businessmen at the Friday social hour.
