Rockstar has announced a new partnership with Amazon to launch a music service along with the release of Grand Theft Auto IV on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
It will be pretty unique in how it works.
When gamers hear a song they like on the Liberty City radio stations in the game, they can use the game’s cell phone to send a text message to ZIT-555-0100. They will then receive a text message with the name of the song as well as the artist name.
Those who are members of the new Rockstar community site, set to launch April 15, will also receive a download link to purchase the song directly from Amazon.
The new Rockstar community site, Rockstar Games Social Club, will also allow gamers to check out stats from their GTA IV multiplayer games, achievements, and more.
It is believed that the songs will cost $1 each and will be completely DRM-free.
Rockstar has promised over 150 different songs on the Liberty City radio stations.
