Dell jumps onboard with Blu-ray

Dell has revealed a brand new Inspiron notebook.  The new notebook will retail for under $1,000 and will feature a built-in Blu-ray player.Dell has revealed a brand new Inspiron notebook. The new notebook will retail for under $1,000 and will feature a built-in Blu-ray player.

The Blu-ray drive built-in has the ability to not only read and write to Blu-ray discs, but it can also read and write to DVDs and CDs.

The new Dell Blu-ray Inspiron 1525 will retail for $879 and will include a 15.4″ display, as well as an HDMI port for output to an HD-display.

Dell also announced that they are dropping the prices of some of their high-end XPS notebooks. These include the XPS M1330 and M1530, which will receive new starting prices at $1,029 and $999.

The XPS 420 Multimedia Desktop is now priced $400 cheaper as well.

Dell is banking that now may be the time which customers begin to want Blu-ray in their notebooks.
