AT&T has revealed their plans to bring AT&T Mobile TV to consumers. The new service will launch in May, and is expected to be as good, if not better than a similar service offered by rival Verizon Wireless.
The new service will be launched with two handsets. The new mobile TV service will also feature two exclusive channels.
It runs off of Qualcomm’s MediaFlo technology, which is already being used by Verizon Wireless for V Cast Mobile TV.
Mark Collins, VP of consumer data for AT&T wireless unit stated “AT&T Mobile TV is a powerful new mobile entertainment offering, which will give our customers a formidable lineup of sports, news, and prime-time shows.”
AT&T will be offering programming from ESPN Mobile TV, Fox Mobile, MTV, NBC 2GO, NBC News2GO, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and CBS Mobile.
