Apple announced that they will make an announcement regarding the iPhone software development kit next Thursday.
Apple sent out invitations on Wednesday for a press announcement regarding the iPhone SDK.
It was originally slated that Apple would release the SDK in February, but they will apparently miss that date.
They are expected to announce details on how developers can create third-party applications to run on the iPhone.
The only way for apps to run on the iPhone right now are via web applications through the Safari browser.
This hasn’t worked out all that well for Apple though as they need true third-party apps to better compete with other smart phones.
