LinkedIn gets a face lift

The newest feature which they have added is LinkedIn news which they have partnered with Business Week to create. LinkedIn, the business service for professionals has launched a brand new home page redesign for the new year as well as some new features which users may truly enjoy.

The new LinkedIn is currently in beta phase and will have its official debut in early 2008.

Co-founder of LinkedIn Allen Blue states that “LinkedIn focused on enhancing the productivity of the professional world. With that in mind, we will only work with select business partners who have already built high vlue, high productivity applications.”

The other big announcement was the Intelligent Applications Platform called InApps which places all of the features of LinkedIn with other outside developers’ sites. This is a developer platform which will allow them to create software for LinkedIn.

The developer platform will allow “the ability to develop applications that will run within LinkedIn using the OpenSocial development model.”

Many new widgets will also be added as well as a LinkedIn Answers feature which allows users to ask other people who are also on the network questions.
