Prosecutor Jack Banas stated that the evidence available against those involved in the MySpace bullying case were not considered harassment, stalking, or endangering the welfare of a child under state laws.

The decision by the prosecutor Banas came during a news conference on Monday. The case is in regards to Megan Meier. The 13-year-old from Dardenne Prairie, Mo. hanged herself last year due to bullying on the internet on the social networking site MySpace.

An adult neighbor created a MySpace account posing as a teenage boy. The adult pretended to become friends with Megan before becoming more of a bully than a friend. The adult neighbors have admitted to creating the account. It is believed they did so in response to Megan treating their own daughter poorly.

Megan hanged herself on October 16, 2006 after receiving some very rude and crude messages on MySpace.
