According to sales numbers, Guitar Hero III managed to sell 1.4 million copies in only six days in October across all systems including the PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, and Wii.In the top ten sales chart for October the top game of the month was Halo 3 for the Xbox 360 which sold 433,800 units. Taking the next three spots though were Guitar Hero III w/ Guitar for the Xbox 360, Wii, and PS2 in that order. The standalone PS2 version of Guitar Hero III also broke the top ten in sales at the number eight spot.
If you add up the sales of Guitar Hero III across all platforms you realize that it only 6 days it was the best selling game for October, selling 1.4 million copies.
The top selling version was Guitar Hero III for the PS2 as the bundle with the guitar and the standalone version ended up selling around 387,00 copies in total.
