Black Friday Deals

No matter how the economy is doing, Black Friday 2010, the day after Thanksgiving, is the biggest shopping day of the year in the United States. For retailers from Wal-Mart to tiny mom and pop shops, Black Friday sales can make or break their entire year.

This year, Black Friday 2010 deals started popping up well ahead of the actual day. Hungry for business from recession wary consumers, businesses have have been offering up Black Friday style deals since just after Halloween.

Each year stores offer “door buster” deals on the season’s hottest items to lure in customers.

Over the past few years, a cottage industry of web sites that leak Black Friday deals has emerged to serve over eager consumers.

While Black Friday crowds are generally peaceful, every year stampeding shoppers cause injuries and even deaths.

Retailers’ mad race in Black Friday Ads builds momentum

As of the first week of November, all major stores have released their Black Friday ads offering attractive deals and unparalleled offers including Walmart, Sears, Target and Best Buy. Walmart’s ads were released much earlier than their planned release date of November 21, a date they have announced on October 21.

Sears and Target have kicked off in full swing with glitzy online sales ads that have caused sudden surge of customer visits to their sites particularly Target’s remarkable offering of 40” LCD HDTV at half its normal retail price.

Not to be outpaced, Walmart and Best Buy launched pre-Black Friday online sales on their websites last weekend. Walmart’s pre-Black Friday drive will kick into high motion with its coming Amazing online specials that offers free shipment and no minimum purchase requirements.

Best Buy has also released its list of unparalleled television offers in its Black Friday ad campaign.

The mad rush indicates that Black Friday sales have already started and now is the time to secure the best bargain. Alternatively, customers are advised to be the earliest to turn up at these stores on Black Friday itself.

Target Among Retailers With Black Friday Ads Already Out

Target is just one of several retailers with Black Friday ads already available in advance of next week’s post-Thanksgiving shopping event. Target, founded in 1902 as Dayton Dry Goods, is offering a wide range of items discounted from phones under $50 to HDTVs under $200.

Those who shop early can take advantage of “door-buster deals” including a Sony Wireless-Ready Blu-Ray Player for $99, a Memorex Progressive Scan DVD Player reduced 19% to $19.99 and a Polaroid V720 USB Digital Camcorder marked down 44% to $49. Music lovers will delight and parents will cringe with a drum set reduced to $35 and a Casio keyboard at $59.

Target is among retailers hoping to spur strong holiday sales following a slight 3% increase last year, up from dismal 2008 figures, but still down from 2007 figures. Target will join a few other stores, including JC Penney and Sears, and open at 4am.
