Lan Nguyen Dang and Van Thanh Pham are facing drug trafficking, theft of utilities, and production of marijuana charges as a result of the investigation into two Calgary homes. The Southern Alberta Investigative Marijuana team was given information and focused on these two homes to direct their efforts.

After obtaining search warrants, the drug squad entered the homes and uncovered sophisticated and technologically savvy marijuana growing operations.

The drug team has been investigating these two homes for over a week, and when they entered they found an advanced growing operation, and evidence of continued harvesting. They found more than 400 young marijuana plants and a large number of packages of pot that were ready to be sold.

Investigations continue, but Ms. Dang is currently suspended without pay from her Calgary Police Service job due to the arrest. She has worked since June 2006 as a customer service administrator.
