Washington (OTL) – The anti-viral drug Tamiflu has been found to be pretty unsuccessful against the flu.
More and more cases of the flu are popping up in the U.S. and are resistant to the drug.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has come out and stated that it is more important than ever to test flu cases.
The hope is that they will be able to identify if cases are resistant to Tamiflu.
The flu cases which are resistant are the H5N1 strains of the flu virus.
Only 11% of the cases so far this season are said to be Tamiflu-resistant, compared to 99% a year ago.
