Washington (OTL) - Makers of infant formula in the United States have come out and reported that their products are melamine free.
They have come to the defense of their products this past week, stating that the tests revealing melamine in infant formula was not from their products.
Last Tuesday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) put out a report stating that they found trace amounts of the toxic chemical melamine in infant formula.
They did not however reveal which company the formula came from, or which type.
The FDA stated though that the levels are so low that they posed no risk.
Many companies have since come out and defended their infant formulas. These include Abbott Nutrition, Nestle USA, and others.
