Washington (OTL) – The main reason many researchers feel that cancer has been declining in both male and female Americans, is detection and prevention. People have become more aware, pay close attention to things that would increase their risk of the deadly disease. Paying for screening to ensure early detection in case they were plagued with the fatal illness. However with the changing in the economy, researchers are fearing for the worse. Some are saying with the loss in jobs, the cycle in financial America and concerned that many Americans will not be able to pay for the screening to prevent the fatal illness. Also with the baby boomers coming of age when cancer is most likely to strike. They are saying that you can not be assured that cancer truly has decreased in occurrence.
Primarily lung cancer and breast in women have reduced, due to the decrease in smoking, and the teaching of young women on how to perform the home self examination, taking note to any changes in the mass of the breasts. With men prostrate and colorectal have decreased, which accounted for a majority of deaths among men.
With the economic meltdown, researchers are still hoping for the best, that people will continue to do the screening tests. The healthier America becomes the more affordable health care will become for all Americans alike.
