Toronto (OTL) – More tainted Halloween candy has been found in Toronto, Canada. This is a very serious issue because it affects the health and well being of young children, especially those who go trick or treating. The tainted candy had first been discovered in Pickering and other small towns are reporting similar cases.
The tainted candy in question is usually a candy called Smarties. Investigators found cold medication in boxes of the candy. The investigators think that someone is tainting the candy, and Nestle which manufactures the candy, has said that they do not think that their manufacturing plant caused the problem.
Parents need to make sure that they open every box of candy that their child receives while trick or treating. You never know what the person’s intentions were when they handed out the candy.
This news is very disturbing because it shows us how cruel people can be. Can you imagine being that cruel that you would try to hurt children by giving them tainted Halloween candy? It is so sad that in today’s society people would try to hurt children this way.
Parents should be cautious when they take their children trick or treating. You should try and take your child trick or treating to the homes of people that you know and trust. This will help to lessen the chance that your child will consume tainted Halloween candy. Please remember to be careful when you go trick or treating and always examine your child’s candy thoroughly before allowing them to eat anything.
