Los Angeles – An important new discover by a University of Louis Pasteur group has discovered there is a drug that can protect mice from gaining too much weight and against resistance to insulin. In a world where obesity is on the rise, this discovery has perked up the ears of the scientific community and is being pegged as one of this generation’s most discoveries.

The drug in question is called SRT1720. It targets an anti-ageing protein SIRT1.

The drug is meant to help obesity when combined with a change in diet (i.e. a healthier diet) and consistent exercise. It is meant to help a person maintain changes in weight instead of ping ponging between gaining and losing weight.

There are few anti-obesity drugs currently available in today’s market. This is because many of the drugs that have appeared in the past have been eventually been removed because of safety concerns Thus, this drug is hoped to fill a much needed void.

Of course, it is too early to know the true effects of this new drug. Only time will tell if this drug ends up changing the lives of the world’s population. If paired with a healthy diet and lifestyle, the drug just might end up changing many people’s lives.
