The man, 54-year old Karl Merk, went through a procedure that consisted of the world’s first double arm transplant.

He lost both of his arms in a farming accident not too long ago.

Back in July, he went through a procedure to try to get his arms back.  The 15-hour operation was handled by over 40 medical doctors in total.

The 54-year old is now on the road to recovery, and is doing quite well for himself.

He has reportedly gained full use of his arms back, and should regain use of his hands soon.

Within the next 2 years, he is expected to make a full recovery.  He should be released from the hospital in about a month.
